SpilMax® Absorbent Floating Bilge Booms will absorb a wide variety of plant and seed oils, hydrocarbons, petrochemicals and petroleum-based solvents. The bilge booms are hydrophobic and repel water. They are intended for use in areas where sheen is likely to be present. While these are traditionally used in boat bilges, they can be used in conjunction with other products and devices, such as those found in drain pits, to remove hydrocarbons from runoff. Manufactured with UV resistant tough spun bonded outer mesh encasing a polypropylene particulate. Each boom features a nylon rope that allows it to be secured and then easily retrieved. A bilge boom can absorb up to 2L per saturation. Even when fully saturated, these durable booms will remain intact and float on water. The SpilMax® range of absorbents have undergone extensive testing to ensure their absorbency and performance.
